I am an oil (additionally acrylic) painter, focusing primarily on portraits and narratives.  My content explores natural beauty, identity, culture, social issues, peace and empowerment. It also honors the heritage, contribution and spirit of underrepresented peoples. I am inspired to create pieces that reflect the energy and character of my subjects within each series, with certain pieces highlighting the non-verbal communication of eyes and hands as translators of the heart and soul. 

 

My palette colors reflect my subject's personality and environment in a harmonious way, with additional emphasis on non-verbal communication and juxtaposition. 

 

My experiences, peers, mentors and students inform much of my process and passion to create work. We learn from each other, evolve into greatness and pass it on. I look forward to the dialogue that my work will create with you.
